The Maroon Bells are two iconic 14,000-foot peaks—Maroon Peak and North Maroon Peak—located in the Elk Mountains within Colorado's White River National Forest. Situated just 10 miles west of Aspen, these majestic, bell-shaped mountains tower over the crystal-clear reflective waters of Maroon Lake, making them the most photographed peaks in North America.

Colorado features some of the darkest skies and highest altitude stargazing locations in the United States, making it a premier destination to view and photograph the Milky Way. Because of its dry air and vast pockets of undeveloped mountain territory, the state is home to numerous officially designated International Dark Sky places. The galactic core is visible from March to October, with the absolute peak viewing season occurring during late summer and early autumn when the galaxy's center rises highest in the sky.

This original acrylic painting "Maroon Nebula" shows Maroon Bells with the milky way above it in the nights sky with a colorful cool tone. This painting is on canvas and measures approximately 16 inches by 20 inches. This painting is a genuine, hand made creation.
