Fine Art Print of the Original Painting "Interstellar Equilibrium" Milky Way with Garden of the Gods Balanced Rock
Garden of the Gods is a world-renowned 1,341-acre public park in Colorado Springs famous for its dramatic 300-foot towering red sandstone formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. It is a registered National Natural Landmark and has been voted the #1 city park in the U.S.
Balanced Rock is a world-famous, 700-ton red sandstone boulder located near the southern entrance of Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Standing 35 feet tall, this massive 1.4-million-pound natural landmark appears to completely defy gravity by balancing precariously on a tiny, sloped pedestal base.
Colorado features some of the darkest skies and highest altitude stargazing locations in the United States, making it a premier destination to view and photograph the Milky Way. Because of its dry air and vast pockets of undeveloped mountain territory, the state is home to numerous officially designated International Dark Sky places. The galactic core is visible from March to October, with the absolute peak viewing season occurring during late summer and early autumn when the galaxy's center rises highest in the sky.
