Garden of the Gods is a world-renowned 1,341-acre public park in Colorado Springs famous for its dramatic 300-foot towering red sandstone formations against the backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak. It is a registered National Natural Landmark and has been voted the #1 city park in the U.S. The Kissing Camels is the most iconic rock formation in Garden of the Gods, featuring two distinct "camel heads" that appear to be touching noses. This natural sandstone sculpture sits approximately 70 feet high atop North Gateway Rock.

Colorado features some of the darkest skies and highest altitude stargazing locations in the United States, making it a premier destination to view and photograph the Milky Way. Because of its dry air and vast pockets of undeveloped mountain territory, the state is home to numerous officially designated International Dark Sky places.
